Our Office Staff are a key part of UCCF’s ministry, dedicated to the facilitation of evangelism on campus, and motivated to provide efficient and effective central functions that lead to students being able to share their faith in Jesus Christ with their friends.
What does this look like on a day-to-day basis? Anything from making sure financial support gets through to staff and Relay Workers, to developing Seeker Bible Studies for use on campus, to promoting world mission to students, to applying for grants to fund Gospel Projects, to arranging interviews for the Staff Workers who will stand alongside CUs nationwide for the next few years, to arranging a 1000-delegate conference to equip CU Execs to lead their CUs in proclaiming the gospel to their universities, and much much more….
What’s it like to work in the Office? It’s a friendly and lively team, with a strong sense of support for each other. Each department has a Team Leader who provides oversight for that area of work and the staff undertaking it. The staff meet every Monday to pray for the ministry nationwide and talk through how the office is serving the Fellowship as a whole. They also meet fortnightly to pray through the Focus prayer diary, or join with IFES to pray for student mission worldwide. As a whole office they have a Biblical Training day each term, as well as everyone going to Forum, the CU Exec conference in September, to assist with the running of that event.
In 2011 the Office relocated to its current home, Blue Boar House, in the centre of Oxford. Through this move we have had the opportunity to share a building with International Fellowship of Evangelical Students, of whom UCCF are the British Member movement. This has opened up many exciting initiatives and projects to benefit student ministry in Britain and around the world. Blue Boar House also has a ground floor auditorium and meeting rooms which local CUs use for both outreach and discipleship events.
