Charlie Butler
As the Christian Persuaders Staff Worker in Cambridge, Charlie’s energies are focused on both serving the Christian Union, and identifying and training people with evangelistic speaking gifts. Cambridge’s culture of “doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas” (Acts 17:21) presents unique challenges and opportunities!
Before joining the Christian Persuaders team, Charlie spent 2 years working for a church in Birmingham. What thrilled him most and drew him back to full-time student work, was seeing students at Birmingham and Aston Universities take significant steps towards putting their trust in Jesus.
Charlie is married to Jenny, a Chemistry teacher, and in their spare moments they love walking along the river Cam and watching DVDs, though never at the same time. The other place Charlie likes to walk is the golf course, although progress around there is always painfully slow.
