Hamish Sneddon
Hamish had the great privilege of being raised in a Christian family, and confessed Christ for himself aged 13. He was brought up in Scotland, and the boarding school he attended was a tough place for a young Christian lad obsessed with rugby. He learnt some good lessons there about holiness though, lessons that were reinforced by his home church.
Hamish became more committed to Christ in both mind and life over his gap year, as the twin areas of doctrine and holiness of living became more and more important. This continued to grow during his time at Durham University, where he thought seriously for the first time about Christian ministry.
Upon graduation, Hamish married Marije, and worked for his church for a year before going into teaching with the aim of earning some money in order to start a family. Thankfully, this paid off, and he and Marije are the proud parents of Alexander, born June '09.
Hamish is really looking forward to working with the students in Durham, his adopted home (though it doesn't beat Scotland) and is excited about the challenges of making Christ known more in their lives and the lives of unbelieving students. His other passions are books, music, and sport, especially rugby.
