Give to Relay Workers
Relay Workers depend on God to provide for the ministry they fulfill. He does so in a variety of ways, but mainly through his people – individuals, churches and trusts. It costs, on average, around £6,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker. As a guide, this equates to 10 people giving £25 per month, 15 people giving £15 per month and 20 people giving £5 per month for the 10 months of the Relay programme.
Other ways to support Relay
From time to time Relay Workers encounter financial difficulties. UCCF has a limited fund from which grants can be made. Please indicate on the form if you would like to make a donation towards the Relay Worker Assistance fund.
The Relay Programme is run by two full-time staff whose salaries need to be covered by donation income. There are also overhead costs associated to ensuring that Relay Workers receive the best possible support and training. Please indicate on the form if you would like to contribute towards these.
Tax restrictions
Please note that there are restrictions on giving to a Relay Worker by someone who is a close relative (by blood or by marriage). Tax can be reclaimed by UCCF but it cannot be transferred to the Relay Worker. We would encourage you to Gift Aid your donation (if you are eligible for us to reclaim tax on your behalf) and then direct the Gift Aid component of your donation (28%) towards either another Relay worker (who you are not related to) or the Relay worker Assistance Fund or our Relay Programme Costs. Please indicate in the Gift Allocation section of the form how you would like the reclaimed tax to be used.
