Cross Examined

Mark Meynell

“Cross Examined explains in a simple yet powerful way the importance and implications of the cross for Christians today”

Cross-Examined is a book that focuses on the cross as the centre of Christianity. It explains in a simple yet powerful way the importance and implications that the cross holds for Christians today. Meynell links the Old and New Testaments together by the cross and examines God’s purpose behind sending Jesus to die. He draws on the significance of the prophesies of Jesus’ death and how this demonstrates that God’s plan has always centred on Jesus dieing to save us from our sins.

Meynell writes in a clear and concise way that brings the story of Jesus to life and makes it relevant for today. He links the majority of his chapters to large sections of the Bible, drawing out his arguments and relating everything to God’s unquestionable purpose of Jesus’ death as the way back to God. This book answers vital questions that help us to better understand God’s plan and the purpose of Jesus’ life on earth.

I found this book extremely helpful, as it unwraps the well-known aspects of Christianity and presents them in a new light. It draws the whole Bible together and has helped me to better understand Christianity as a whole.
