Changing lives to be like Jesus through teaching, relationships and service.

UCCF has a continuing commitment to see effective leaders developed through the Christian Unions. We are immensely privileged to be involved in building qualities into people's lives which are the foundations of their future service.

Our desire is to see effective Christian Unions, led by students, which will work to make disciples in the student world. Our prayer is that from them, many will go out into the workplace and into the world to continue to be and make disciples. Our hope is that they will make a difference and that through them there will be men and women from every nation with us on that great day of the Lord towards which we labour. It's exciting to be part of this!

Student Leadership is our philosophy. We believe in empowering and developing students as leaders. This is a key strategy in the work which we believe that we have been entrusted with under God to serve the world wide church.

We long to see lives Transformed.

"Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."

Leadership is about learning

God calls us into leadership so that we can get to know him better. Our growth and development is a key part of God's agenda as He calls us to serve Him. We have a responsibility to help each other learn, grow and develop.

'Transformation' is not primarily about meetings or bits of paper. Our aim is to help you to develop yourself and to help and encourage others. The focus is on seeing your character transformed as you grow in your relationship with God and as his word impacts on your whole life. We want to promote good relationships and equip you for service in the CU and beyond.

Teaching

We want you to grow in understanding and develop life-long convictions about some core spiritual truths.

Relationships

We want you to experience quality and depth in Christian relationships and to consider how to be more intentional in helping each other towards greater Christ-likeness.

Service

We want to empower you to be a leader of vision and maturity. To see you enabled for the practical responsibilities of your duties and developing gifts which will serve the worldwide church.

• Resourcing for CU leadership
• Doing the work of an evangelist

'Transformation' will take place in four different
contexts:

1. National - UCCF Forum, Word Alive
   - other National initiatives such as Biblical Evangelism Conference, and Ishmael my Brother.
2. Regional - New Leaders Training Weekends,
   - Regional leaders days.
3. Local - Sessions with UCCF staff or Relay workers with a committee or organised in the local CU. Some subjects may be best covered in the main teaching programme.
4. Personal - Meeting one-to-one, reading and study.

Attendance at one national, two regional and one local event, commitment to a local church and reading one recommended book a term is the basic commitment required.
