Aim
The purpose of the weekend is the first question that the committee should ask themselves. There are a number of legitimate motives for a houseparty, including:
- A time of concentrated teaching for the CU on a particular book of the Bible or particular theme (see below)
- A chance to integrate new people into the CU
- Training and motivation in evangelism, in Bible study or in international vision.
- If large numbers of non-Christians are coming (say 50% of the total attendance) the aim could be overtly evangelistic. For smaller numbers you could perhaps put on an evangelistic seminar.
