Whilst at University, I have had the joy of seeing people come to Christ, people from both Christian and non-Christian backgrounds. However, I have also seen people who have grown up in a Church context but have rejected Jesus when they’ve come to university. The freedom of moving away from home can make it very hard for students to keep a grasp of what they once believed. In Aberystwyth, apathy is a huge problem; this lack of interest can be very discouraging for the CU.

Interface, the UCCF arts section, is a network of artists existing to support each other as they try to reconcile their faith with today’s strongly secular art world and with the opposition found in many art schools. We are seeking to be artists whose work is of a high standard and which intelligently and powerfully challenges people on their beliefs.

I will be supporting the Christian art students in Aberystwyth and facilitating more creative evangelistic events, like the exhibition we held in an abandoned shop earlier this year. This year we are also joining the Student Union; a big step for the CU and one to be approached with wisdom and integrity.
