Summer is now in full swing, at least we're meant to be in the summer season, although as I look out of my window the rain is pouring down!

I'm sure that many of you will be enjoying a change of routine, or perhaps no routine at all during the summer break. I wonder if thoughts of CU, the past year or the coming year are even on your mind. I'd like to encourage you to dust off your memories and think back over the past academic year and praise God for all the amazing things He has done in your life, the lives of your Christian friends and the lives of your non-Christian friends too. Praise God for every person you spoke to who asked spiritual questions, seemed convicted of their unrighteousness or drawn to Jesus' righteousness because all these things are evidence of God's Spirit at work. Praise God too for carrying you through the difficult times, because that's when we realise how faithful He is.

And what about the coming year?

• Wouldn't it be amazing if God brought along loads of Christian freshers to become part of your CU mission team!
• Wouldn't it be fantastic to see freshers who are from Christian homes, but haven't yet made up their own minds about whether to follow Christ, decide to follow Him and live the rest of their lives for him!
• Wouldn't it be totally thrilling to see God breathe new life into people who were previously spiritually dead…..right from the first day of term!

If the thought of these things excites you then 1) get praying that our Heavenly Father will be pleased to make it happen and 2) get back to Uni in time for Freshers' Week and get involved with the plans your CU has for welcoming Christian freshers into CU and reaching non-Christian freshers with the best news they will ever hear.
