London Update

'For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men' (1 Peter 2:15) and 'Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders...' (1 Thess 4:11-12) both challenge us to live for Jesus.

With the focus on FREE, we're thinking, planning, preparing and doing a lot of speaking for Jesus. But, we also have to make sure that our faith is being shown in doing good in daily life. Peter and Paul knew that their readers needed reminding that following Christ wasn't just another philosophy - there's intentional action in changed priorities, service, time spent with people, winsome activity.

As we prayed for FREE on Wednesday 15th October at Christ Church Spitalfields, there was a deliberate focus on proclaiming Good News. Let us do that in word and deed on campuses across the capital. Plan your week so you're able to spend time with coursemates after that lecture or seminar in a nearby cafe or later in the pub. Join another society, where you'll have regular opportunity to spend time doing something you enjoy alongside non-Christians. Stop and chat with your unbelieving housemate rather than rushing off to another Christian meeting.

Let's make it our ambition this term to speak for Jesus as we're living for Jesus.
