Seminars
There are several benefits to be drawn from offering seminars alongside the main teaching sessions. Not only do seminars involve a different dynamic and learning style, they also allow for additional subjects to be covered without losing the focus of the weekend. Depending on the size of the group you could offer 2-6 seminars at any one time, possibly with a repeat running at another time to allow CU members to choose two seminars to go to over the weekend. Try and allow 90 minutes for a seminar, an hour tends to be too short. Subjects to tackle in this way might include:
- Reading the Bible for all its worth
- A Gospel outline
- Prayer How to read a film
- Coping with a non-Christian family
- Other religions
- Giving your testimony
- Being a world Christian
- What is a Christian? (evangelistic)
- Homosexuality
- Is Jesus the only way to God?
- Sex and relationships
Christianity and (student) politics
- Euthanasi
- Running an enquirers group
- Science and Christianity
