Scottish Biblical Evangelism Conference
4 Dec 09
- 6 Dec 09
St Peters, Dundee
The Bible is great – but people don’t think so. It contains an amazing message – but people don’t want to hear it. It exposes the real truth about God and people – but our culture considers it to be totally irrelevant. How can we take the word God has given us to share, to the world God has given us to reach?
The Biblical Evangelism Conference aims to help us bridge that gap; to train all of us for the work of evangelism and identify Christian evangelists who will make their passion communicating God’s neverchanging word to our generation.
Speaker
Our speaker is Robin Sydserff, a minister in Edinburgh. Robin has recently returned from working in London training people in handling the Bible, and has lots of experience teaching students. He will be helping us to dig deeper into the Bible and consider how its truths can best be shared with the people we live and study alongside every day.
What exactly happens at the conference?
In the main sessions we will dig into one of the gospels and see how the message of Jesus is shown in the Bible, and how that speaks to our situation today.
There will also be some time in small groups, led by UCCF staff, where each delegate will be asked to give an evangelistic presentation based on a short Bible passage and will then be given feedback and tips on how to improve the content and style of their presentation. Delegates will be sent details of the passage they will be speaking about in advance.
This should provide a positive and safe environment to ‘try out’ your evangelism before heading out into the world to engage with people who aren’t Christians.
