Having recently finished a Medical Engineering Degree at University of Surrey I’m heading a little further south to go and support Portsmouth University Christian Union for 10 months from September 2009 on the Relay Programme.

It has been a privilege to be part of the CU at Surrey for the past 4 years. I’ve enjoyed helping out with evangelistic events and supporting the Christians on campus. During an intensive week of such events this February I realised just how exciting student mission is and applied to do Relay. I’m really looking forward to being able to come alongside Christians at Portsmouth CU, assisting with Bible studies in small groups and one-to-one. As part of Relay I’ll also have a great chance to study core Christian doctrine. There will be three residential training conferences during the year. I’ll be part of the South East Team and be supported by a Staff Worker, who will be keeping an eye on me!

At times this upcoming challenge seems a little daunting but also exciting and I look forward to what God has in store to do in Portsmouth Uni through the CU over the next year.
