What can I support?
You can choose to give directly to support a specific area of our work.
Our general ministry
Most of our supporters give to our general ministry. This allows maximum flexibility, as gifts can be used where there is the greatest need.
Special appeal/project
Each year we have an Annual Appeal focussing on a specific area of current need. Hundreds of supporters responded generously this year to help us support CUs in the face of growing opposition to Christian witness from Students’ Unions and University authorities. In addition, there are special projects like our Gospel distributions, through which over 1.5 million gospels have been put into the hands of non-Christian students and many have become Christians as a result.
Specialist ministry
Some supporters choose to support a particular area of ministry in which they have a personal interest e.g. our work with arts or theology students.
CUs in my chosen area
You can allocate your gifts to help us support CUs in either the area where you live, where you were a student or some other place with which you have a personal link. We call these supporters CU Friends and send them news each term by post or email. Click here for more information about becoming a CU Friend .
A staff member/Relay worker
Many supporters have a personal link with one or more staff or Relay workers. Gifts from these Support Partners are allocated to help fund the work of their friend or relative and in return the Support Partners receive regular news for prayer.
There is a government restriction on close relatives (by blood or marriage) making Gift Aid donations to Relay workers. Tax can be reclaimed by UCCF, but it cannot be passed on to the Relay worker. It can, however, be retained by UCCF to help towards the cost of running the Relay programme. No such restriction applies to relatives of staff members.
