The CUs aim to make Jesus known on campus throughout the year. But, in the spring, many will also run a week of daily, high-profile evangelistic events.
These weeks have exciting potential.
Because of the intensive nature of the week, it's possible for a student to turn up on the Monday having heard nothing about Jesus, and profess faith on the Friday. We've seen this happen. We've also seen students who've questioned Christianity for years pour out their doubts, and find satisfying answers. We've seen CU members start to love evangelism.
After their mission week last year, one Bart's CU member said:
'I had been nervous about the week, but was totally blown away. I now feel a lot more comfortable to have those difficult conversations about death, disease and hope.'
So, how can you support the CUs during such a vital time?
Your prayers will make all the difference as the CUs step out with the gospel. You can use our Focus prayer diary to pray for a different CU each day, or if you'd like to pray for a specific CU, why not follow them on social media, or chat to their Staff Worker to find out more?
We'd appreciate prayer for:
Why not send a CU a message through our website? Especially for smaller CUs, sometimes just knowing they aren't alone can be a real boost.
For some CUs, there may be ways to provide practical support if you live locally, whether that's catering, helping locate a venue, attending a prayer meeting or even volunteering to speak at a follow-up course. I'm sure the CUs would love to hear from you. It's a real help to know in advance, so you can get in touch with your local CU Staff Worker in the summer and autumn terms to see how you could play a part.
We are thrilled to be able to provide missional training for CU leaders, and to place Staff Workers and Relay Workers alongside them (both during mission weeks and throughout the year). This is only possible through your generous support. To find out more or to make a gift, go here.
Thank you for your support!
