This August, we’re excited to welcome in 20 new members of staff!
They will strive to help the CUs live and speak for Jesus on campus – meeting one-to-one with CU leaders, delivering evangelistic talks, leading Bible studies, seminars, praying for students and more.
'It’s hard to put into a few words how much I have been encouraged by my Staff Worker over the past three years. She's been a real blessing to both me personally and to my CU.' – Rachel, Swansea CU member
We've found that this support make a real difference to the CUs. It helps individual members who are nervous about evangelism, become confident in the gospel. It inspires CU mission teams to become excited and bold in their witness. (You can see this in action here.)
At such a pivotal point, when the CUs are poised to return to the universities and run mission in-person again, we can’t wait to see how God will use these new staff.
These new staff are all excited to get going.
Future Staff Worker Elliot, for example, says, 'I became a Christian during my time at university in Canterbury and the CU was key in shaping and growing my faith. I can’t wait to start working with CUs there again.'
While Bethany Shirtcliffe says, 'None are better placed than the CU to reach fellow students and I am both thrilled and daunted to move to Birmingham and start this work alongside them.'
(Find out more about each individual staff member, here.)
Will you join us in praying for these new staff members as they prepare to start? Let's pray that they will:
Let's lift them to the Lord, echoing this prayer in 1 Thessalonians 1:11–12…
'…we constantly pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may bring to fruition your every desire for goodness and your every deed prompted by faith. We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him…'
