Helen spent her University years at Abertay University in Dundee. She loved living in Scotland with its hills and beaches and really enjoyed studying in Dundee with its vast amount of students and its buzzing city centre.
Helen was an active member of her Christian Union at University and really benefitted from the support her Staff Worker, Relay Worker and Christian Union gave her in terms of her exploring what she believed for herself and learning what it means to live for Jesus. The Christian Union equipped Helen to evagelise to her friends and trained her on how to open her Bible with her friends. As a result, she ran a few Uncover sessions introducing them to Jesus.
Helen grew up in Essex, she was brought up by a loving Christian family who had always taught her about who God is and what He has done for us. God has continued to grow Helen over the years since she became a Christian, she has seen how we all long for relationship with God even if we don’t recognise that, that is our longing. Helen is passionate about supporting students as they stand on their own two feet in terms of their faith and is excited to come alongside them as they look to tell others about the hope that can be found in Christ.
In her spare time Helen enjoys countryside walks, hill walks, reading and socialising with friends. She has spent the last two and a half years living and working in Australia and is excited to move back to the UK and get settled into life at home again. She is also excited to have been placed in Essex as a Staff Worker. Essex is close to her heart and she is praying that she will be an encouragement and support to those who are seeking to serve and live for Jesus in the Universities around Essex.
