Hello my friends,
The past three years studying music at Cardiff University have been incredible. So much so, that I've decided to stay - working for 10 months with the Cardiff University and Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama Christian Unions (CU). My own time in Cardiff has been deeply impacted by involvement with the CU and I therefore consider it a privilege to get to work with UCCF to support CU this year.
I'm really looking forward to helping organise various events and creatively encouraging other Christian students as they grow and seek to mature in their faith. University is a place where, it is widely acknowledged, individuals really start to 'work out' who they are. For the first time, many are away from the influences of family and Church.
Imagine a CU that is so rooted in God's love and secure in their identity in Him, that they portray this through a series of amazing opportunities - for personal development and individual witness. When will individual students get to meet so many people ever again in their lives? Through how we love those we get placed alongside, we can point them to the love that Jesus has for them. A love so great that he died for them. There are no outsiders to the love of Jesus.
Prayers would be highly appreciated as I prepare for, and throughout, this year. The role is voluntary, therefore I will be raising my own finances. If you are able to give, large or small amounts will be very very gratefully received - either a monthly pledge or a direct gift. Please contact me directly for details.
Thank you for taking in an interest in my job for next year. Please get in touch if you have any questions - I'd love to hear from you!!
