CU Staff Worker in our South West region.
Being born in the Netherlands and growing up in Norway, Leonie can’t get enough of crossing borders. Looking for more adventure, she came to Exeter to do a degree in History and International Relations. During her time at university, she grew massively in her faith and loved being part of the CU – especially reaching out to international students!
Since graduating, Leonie has done a year of children's work at her home church in Norway, where she spent most of her time playing dress-up and doing crafts, as well as having the privilege of telling kids about Jesus. Wanting to pursue her passion for cross cultural mission, Leonie went on to do a Master’s degree in Intercultural Communication at Durham University.
Amazed at the way God is at work in the student world, Leonie longs to see students in Exeter put their trust in Jesus grow in their knowledge of the Gospel. She is excited about all the different and creative ways in which students are reaching their friends for Christ and can’t wait to walk and learn alongside them.
Despite the lack of ‘proper’ mountains in the South West, Leonie still loves spending time outdoors, and aspires to one day own a dog. She also loves getting an early night (before 10pm is ideal) and spends a lot of time listening to music, reading books and drinking an unhealthy amount of tea. The rest of her time goes to knitting socks, making (and eating) food with friends and playing the ukulele.
Please give now to support Leonie’s vital work with Christian Unions. We can’t do this without you.
