Lyndsey Simpson

Relay Worker in our Scotland region.

Lyndsey is doing Relay in Edinburgh, supporting the Christian Union in Queen Margaret University.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Lyndsey says...

Hi I'm Lyndsey, born and bred in Northern Ireland but a recent English Literature and History graduate from Edinburgh University. This year I will be sticking around the city I have called home for the past four years in order to work alongside Queen Margaret University as a Relay Worker.

As a relatively new Christian when I started University, the Christian Union was foundational, alongside church, in offering me fellowship; helping me to grow in my personal faith and equipping me to speak to my friends about Jesus. I am therefore so so excited to have the opportunity to support current students in this same mission as I help to organise events, open up God’s word with them and encourage them to share the amazing news of the Gospel with those around them.

I truly believe that University is a unique time in one’s life, where people have both the time and opportunity to explore their own identity and beliefs. I would therefore love if you could pray for me and the Christian students at Queen Margaret as they build relationships and lovingly share the Gospel with those around them.

I will be sending out a regular prayer letter with updates and prayer requests. I would appreciate so much if you signed up to receive this and could support me in this way. I would also be so appreciative if you would consider partnering with me financially to support my ministry and living costs in the coming year.

If you have any more questions, please do get in touch!

Pray for Lyndsey

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Lyndsey’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Lyndsey:

  • That the students of Queen Margaret will hear and respond to the Gospel
  • That both myself and the students in the CU will grow in faith and be excited to speak about Jesus
  • That I will be dependant on God for my support raising

Partner with Lyndsey

It costs on average £8,000–12,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.

Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:

  • Encourage CU students in their faith in the Lord Jesus.
  • Give biblically-grounded answers to students exploring Christianity.
  • Support CUs as they seek to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
