Relay Worker.
Matthew is doing Relay in Coleraine.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Matthew says...
I am exponentially excited to be embarking on my Relay Year in the North West of Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland supporting students and the work of the Christian Unions there.
I am particularly looking forward to this new opportunity to work within the team at CUI, to get to know the students and to get involved with Christian Ministry across three Campuses. I hope and pray this will help me to know and love God more, maturing me in my faith.
As I begin and over the course of my Relay year I would greatly appreciate your prayerful support and particularly that I use my time well and work diligently for the Lord, that I come alongside and encourage and disciple Christian students and that I would be brave and bold in speaking to non-believers about God's love for them and that they would turn to Him.
To enable me to work effectively in this role for CUI, I would ask for your financial support to deliver the practical requirements (living costs, transport and administration) of this mission and to allow my focus to be on word ministry.
I pray that I would use my gifts and talents to God's glory in this role and that the relay will be carried on by others in future years.
