Relay Worker in our Scotland region.
Rorie is doing Relay in Glasgow, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Strathclyde.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Hey! I’m Rorie and this year I’ll be the Relay Worker for Strathclyde CU in Glasgow! I’ve just graduated from Edinburgh Napier after studying civil engineering for the past 5 years in my home city. One of my favourite aspects of uni life was to get alongside other Christian students in the Christian Union and share the hope we have in Jesus with other students across the city.
So to follow that, I’m buzzing for the many exciting opportunities that Relay entails! This includes getting alongside the students at Strathclyde CU as they share their faith with other students, helping out at the events hosted by the CU and discipling the CU students. Additionally, I’ll also have the opportunity to develop a deeper grasp of God’s word as I receive theological training, whilst drawing closer in my personal relationship with God.
As part of my Relay year, I’m excited to be building a support network who will partner with me, both in prayer and financially. The financial support will go towards things like living expenses, training materials and travelling costs. I will also be sending out regular prayer letters to keep people up to date with what I’m doing and ways that supporters can be praying for the work of sharing the gospel with students on campus, as well as being a way to stay connected with my supporters. I can’t wait to see what lies ahead this year and any support I receive would be greatly appreciated!
