Tom will be starting work with UCCF as Relay Worker in August 2022.
Tom is doing Relay in Aberdeen, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Aberdeen.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Hi there! I’m Tom, I’m originally from Belfast but I’ve been in Edinburgh for the last four years studying Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University. It was here that I got involved with the CU and saw what a great mission field university is and how the work of a CU can bring about so many opportunities to speak about Jesus with non-Christians and draw alongside other Christians to encourage them in their walk with God.
This coming year I’ll be serving as the Relay Worker for University of Aberdeen (and I’m very pumped about it!), seeking to make the Lord known to the students in Aberdeen through supporting the CU in their mission. Day-to-day this will look like engaging in first-contact evangelism on campus, one-to-one Bible studies with Christian students and seeker Bible studies with non-Christian students, as well as being trained in various ways for ministry while being supervised by a UCCF Staff Worker.
While serving as the Relay Worker for University of Aberdeen I will be depending on a network of supporters to bring the mission of the CU before the Lord in prayer and to support me financially in this mission to cover things such as living expenses, training materials and travelling costs. I will also be sending out regular prayer updates to keep connected with supporters and let them know how they can be praying and giving thanks for the spread of the gospel on campus. I’d love if you would consider being part of this team!
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Tom’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Tom:

Relay Workers are supported entirely by partnering with personal supporters, who will pray for them and give financially to enable their work. Thank you so much for considering partnering with Tom in the coming year.
