Verity will be starting work with UCCF as Relay Worker in August 2022.
Verity is doing Relay in London, supporting the Christian Union in St George's, University of London.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Verity says...
After completing my degree in Counselling and Psychology at Roehampton University, I am excited to be staying in London to support St. Georges Tooting Christion Union. After being on the CU committee at my university I am looking forward to using my experience to support SGCU in evangelism on their campus. I hope the friendships I build will offer opportunities to encourage each member individual in their walk with Christ.
University is the best place for opportunities to share the gospel and use this unique time to explore the bible message. I am excited at the prospect of doing bible studies and talks that will build students up. I am also thrilled to have the opportunity to study the bible and doctrine at a deeper level so I can gain understanding of topics within Christianity. Through this study I hope that my faith will deepen and that the focus of my heart will be increasingly directed at God.
I’m so glad that I will be part of the team of Relay this year as well as a wider support network. I am currently building a team of supporters who will pray for me via monthly pray letters. I am also building a base of financial support to aid in my living and ministry cost for the next ten months. Prayer is a vital part of supporting Verity’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Verity:
- That she would trust God to provide all she spiritually and materially needs for the next year and cast her anxieties onto Him.
- That the Lord would show her where she can support the students in their walk with Christ, at whatever stage they are in.
- That God would prepare her heart for a year of services and care for others and that her eyes would stay fixed on Him.

It costs on average £8,000–12,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.
Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:
- Encourage CU students in their faith in the Lord Jesus.
- Give biblically-grounded answers to students exploring Christianity.
- Support CUs as they seek to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
