Albania Summer Team

Sun, sea, sport and sharing the Gospel. Over the last few years, students from the Midlands have been helping to run a summer camp for students from across Albania. There will be a mix of students who are Christians and not, and we'll be befriending these Albanian students, leading them in Bible studies, playing volleyball with them, and encouraging them to see the beauty of the gospel, whether as an encouragement or for the very first time.

Come and join the team on this beach summer camp as we serve together, grow in faith, have loads of fun, and talk about Jesus with Albanian students.

We'll be flying to Bari in Italy then getting an overnight ferry to Durres where we'll have private cabins shared with one other team member. After we arrive we'll head to Tirana the capital of Albania, where we’ll spend the next two days getting to know each other, acclimatising and planning for the training and summer camp we’ll be helping to run. A minibus will then ferry us to Borsh in the south of Albania, where we’ll spend six days at an evangelistic summer camp for students from across Albania. We’ll then return to Tirana for a day of rest and debrief.

All meals and accommodation are included in the price. You'll need an up-to-date passport but a visa is not required for British nationals. For those people requiring a visa we recommend you begin the application process early; the cost for a visa is not included in the price of the trip. Accommodation will be in twin rooms at a hotel in Tirana, and in bunk beds in large tents in Borsh.

For participation in many of our summer teams you would need to be up-to-date with routine UK vaccinations and may need to have one or two more, these are likely to include tetanus and Hepatitus A and B and potentially tetanus, TB and rabies but we advise you talk to your GP regarding which vaccinations you will need in particular in Albania. The cost of these vaccinations is not included in the price of the trip.

The price of the trip will be £929 in total and this includes the price of attending the Summer Team Orientation Conference from 17th - 19th May 2019 at the Quinta Christian Centre in Oswestry.

The price includes all flights and ferry costs, accommodation, travel within the country and insurance. The money you pay also includes a contribution towards paying for the running of the camp and for attendees in our host country. The camp relies on our contribution to be able to run. Payment deadlines will be discussed with you at interview.

The payment schedule is as follows:

On Application - £173
22nd May - £336.00
13th June - £420

In the unlikely event that fewer than 4 people were to apply we would discuss the possibility of cancelling the trip but would let you know at least 2 weeks before the orientation conference.

Should delays occur at the outward or homewards points of departure we’ll work with the host movement and the Travel Management Company to ensure that you are able to take another flight to your destination and that accommodation is provided if necessary.

The money you pay for the trip will be transferred into a designated fund which will only be used to pay for the summer team. ATOL and ABTA will ensure that you are repatriated or given a full refund for the flight in the unlikely event of the Travel Management Company’s financial failure, and if you have booked a package holiday with us. For the non-flight components of the trip, in accordance with "The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992" all passengers booking with UCCF are fully protected for the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of all monies paid to us, including repatriation if required, arising from cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of UCCF.
