Majority Muslim Country Summer Team

An opportunity to partner with a local CU movement and to work with students (both believers and non-believers) as part of a cultural exchange.

We'll spend two weeks working alongside the local CU movement as they reach out by hosting a cultural exchange. We'll be making new friends, learning about a new culture and sharing about our own, as well as taking opportunities to share the reason for the hope that we have.

The cost of the trip will be £760 in total and this includes the price of attending the Summer Team Orientation Conference from 17 - 19 May 2019 at the Quinta Christian Centre in Oswestry.

Flights from London and all travel within the country are covered in the cost of the trip. We'll fly directly into the nearest city to our destination and use public transport to travel around. The rest of the time will be spent in the local area. We'll be staying with local families and with members of the host movement, all of whom are well-known to the local church. All meals are covered in the cost of the trip and these will be a mix of eating in restaurants/cafes or with our host families.

We'll spend a few days in the country getting some cultural orientation, before beginning the cultural exchange programme. Each day will look slightly different but will include meeting up altogether to go on day trips, to undertake cultural activities, to help students with their English conversation skills, and generally grow in friendships.

Holders of a British passport would need a visa to enter the country, those with a different passport will be treated on a case by case basis - we'll give more information about this at interview.

For participation in many of our summer teams you would need to be up-to-date with routine UK vaccinations and may need to have one or two more, these are likely to include Tetanus. We advise you talk to your GP regarding which vaccinations you will need in particular in this country. The cost of this vaccination is not included in the price of the trip.

The cost of the trip will be £760.00 in total and the payment schedule is as follows:

Payments due:
On Application £156
22nd May £268.50
13th June £335.50

In the unlikely event that 5 people or fewer were to apply we would discuss the possibility of cancelling the trip but would let you know at least 2 weeks before the orientation conference and would discuss with you alternative trips that might be a suitable replacement.

Should delays occur at the outward or homewards points of departure we’ll work with the host movement and the Travel Management Company to ensure that you are able to take another flight to your destination and that accommodation is provided if necessary.

The money you pay for the trip will be transferred into a designated fund which will only be used to pay for the summer team. ATOL and ABTA will ensure that you are repatriated or given a full refund for the flight in the unlikely event of the Travel Management Company’s financial failure, and if you have booked a package holiday with us. For the non-flight components of the trip, in accordance with "The Package Travel, Package Holidays and Package Tours Regulations 1992" all passengers booking with UCCF are fully protected for the initial deposit and subsequently the balance of all monies paid to us, including repatriation if required, arising from cancellation or curtailment of your travel arrangements due to the insolvency of UCCF.
