Assistant Team Leader in our North East region.
Andrea grew up in the lovely little town of Matlock in Derbyshire, where her parents faithfully told her of Jesus and took her to their local church from an early age, becoming a Christian when she was around 8 years old.
Ten years later, she spread her wings and moved to equally beautiful Yorkshire, to study music at Huddersfield University. The first few weeks were much harder than she anticipated, and she began to really question her faith for the first time. Thankfully, when she needed it most, Andrea met the CU at Huddersfield who welcomed her in and helped her find a local church.
Her plan to hide away from the unsettling world around her with these new Christian friends didn’t last long. Through faithful time and teaching with her church and CU staff worker, Andrea soon realised she wasn’t called to hide away in the world-but that the gospel propelled her outwards to share Jesus with those around her. Cue a wonderful three years of student life and being amazed at God using her in her weakness!
After graduating, Andrea stayed in Huddersfield to do Relay (where she gained the illogical nickname Ang), then spent time working as a high school learning mentor, a tutor and with her church. In 2016 she was thrilled to join UCCF in a new staff role in West Yorkshire and has loved seeing the work of CUs there grow and bear fruit in wonderful ways over the last few years. Now, she loves being able to continue working alongside CUs as well as her role as Assistant Team Leader, where she loves supervising staff, relays and helping to shape and direct NE team life.
Andrea is married to Jamie and they live in Huddersfield. She is well known amongst friends and family for her very strange sneezes and constant laughter. She loves music, bright colours, good tea and cake and spending time outside hiking up hills and much to her recent surprise, trying to build up her running endurance from 10k!
