Elspeth Murray

Elspeth will be starting work with UCCF as Relay Worker in August 2026.

Elspeth is doing Relay in Edinburgh, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Edinburgh.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Elspeth says...

Hello! I’m Elspeth, I come from a wee town in Scotland.

I'm feeling blessed to have been given the opportunity to work with the University of Edinburgh doing Relay. I’m excited for the highs and the lows, to be face-to-face with gospel ministry opportunities.

Throughout my time at university I have been so blessed by UCCF, whether that be Relay, Student Council, or through Staff Workers. Having been surrounded by the Christian Unions throughout my whole university experience, I’ve seen first-hand the effect that a Relay Worker coming alongside one's walk with God can have. I am blessed and excited to serve God in this special way.

For the Relay year I am aiming to raise £12,000 throughout the year. This seems like a massive sum total, however this is my first step into trusting God with this Relay year.

Pray for Elspeth

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Elspeth ’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Elspeth :

  • Pray for my faith and love of the Lord to grow, my discipline in reading and praying to remain steadfast.
  • Pray that God would use me as a tool in His plan to draw others nearer to Himself, and pray that there would be fruits to this Relay year.
  • Pray for myself and all the other Relays that we would remain humble, willing to be used by God in any way, submitting our time to Him.

Partner with Elspeth

It costs on average £10,000–£14,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.

Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:

  • Encourage CU students in their faith in the Lord Jesus.
  • Give biblically-grounded answers to students exploring Christianity.
  • Support CUs as they seek to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
