Rowan will be starting work with UCCF as Relay Worker in August 2026.

Rowan is doing Relay in Edinburgh, supporting the Christian Unions in the University of Edinburgh and Heriot-Watt University.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Rowan says...

Hello, my name is Rowan, and I am delighted to be the Relay Worker for both Edinburgh University and Heriot-Watt Christian Union for the 2026/27 academic year. I have been so encouraged to see how fruitful the student ministry has been here over the past year, and so I consider it a massive privilege to be able to devote myself full-time to gospel work being done.

I grew up knowing nothing about the gospel and heard it first while at university. I was fortunate to meet believing students rooted in Scripture who would listen to me, pray for me, open the Word with me, and show me Jesus. Coming to faith led me to attending a 20schemes church plant in the south of Edinburgh during my placement year and have since returned there during my postgraduate degree. God willing, this year would enable current and incoming students to grow in their faith, to learn to share the gospel and disciple others, or even to hear the gospel for the first time, while also equipping me with the theological tools that will support my growth for a life-time of discipleship wherever I may be.
