How can we take the Word God has given us to share, to the world God has given us to reach? NBEC aims to help bridge that gap; to train all of us for the work of evangelism and identify Christian evangelists who will make it their passion to communicate God’s never changing Word to our generation.
This small weekend conference will take us out of our busy contexts into the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales. It is a great opportunity to meet other like-minded CU students from across the NW and NE. But specifically NBEC will sharpen your understanding of evangelism and will equip you to communicate the gospel on campus and beyond, with an open Bible.
In our main sessions our speaker, Seb Rab, will refresh our foundational understanding of Christian life and witness as we look at four key texts from the Apostle Paul. In workshop groups, you will have a chance to deliver a talk you have prepared on a given bible passage and receive feedback. There’s nothing quite like it for having a go at publicly communicating the gospel in a safe environment amongst friends who are for you!
Our hope is that you will leave the conference with a little more confidence to try and give an evangelistic talk in your own context and have a richer vision for life-long mission. We would also hope that by attending, you would enrich and strengthen the witness of your CU immediately and your church family in the long term.
Sebastian Rab is the CEO of the Jonas Centre, a Christian residential centre in the Yorkshire Dales. Through his twenties, he worked for two different churches in North Yorkshire and with UCCF in York. He has an MA in Theology and Ministry from Cranmer Hall, St John’s College, Durham. Seb is married to Rachael and they live in the village of Reeth, where they are part of Reeth Evangelical Congregational Church.
