Accessibility at Forum

At Forum we aim to provide accessibility support to all those who require it so that no one misses out.

To ensure we can allocate resources accordingly and do our best to make sure facilities are available when you arrive, you must make sure you put all your requirements in your booking form. If you do not include it in your form, requirements such as accessible indoor accommodation may not be available to you when you arrive.

The site where Forum takes place is wide spread and situated on a hill. Existing site venues with hard paths are located at the top of the hill, and at the bottom there is the main campsite and marquees which are situated on grass fields. The weather can have a drastic impact on the suitability of the site for those in wheelchairs. Heavy rainfall can prohibit wheelchair users from accessing the site beyond the main marquee.

Below are details of the provisions which we currently offer. Provision that need to be noted in advance on your booking form say 'on request'.

  • Accessible access into main marquee and a number of smaller venues.
  • Accessible toilets and showers as part of indoor accommodation - see below for details.
  • Disabled toilet situated next to main marquee.
  • Access to mains electricity for wheelchair charging in selected marquees across site and in indoor accommodation.
  • Trackway between main marquee and the Hub.
  • Reserved wheelchair spaces in venues on request.
  • We are working on the best possible hearing loop options particularly for our main marquee. We will update this section once we have confirmed what type of hearing loop will be available.
  • Large-print song lyrics on request in either physical print or digital copy. Physical copies will be available at the Forum reception cabin.

Limited number of indoor rooms which can be reserved, please note what type of accommodation you need in your booking form:

  • Ground floor rooms with disabled en-suite.
  • Ground floor rooms in dorms.
  • Single occupancy rooms not on ground floor.
  • Disabled parking available on arrival outside indoor accommodation and main marquee on request.
  • Buggy available for shuttle around site on request.
  • Carer tickets are free and include a food pass. On site accommodation can also be provided. Please contact us directly if you require a carer ticket.
  • Reserved front row spaces on request.
  • Pre-meeting access on request
  • Earplugs and ear defenders available for free hire at the Forum reception cabin.
  • Venue signage for flashing lights.
  • Live stream of main sessions to the Studio marquee as a quieter alternative.
  • Access for assistance dogs. Please notify us if you are bringing an assistance dog so we can notify the site*

Get in contact with your CU Staff Worker if you would like to discuss accessibility needs or contact us using the following email address if you have any further questions or there is something you need that is not listed above: forum@uccf.org.uk

*UCCF asks owners of assistance dogs to bring a harness/jacket or lead for their dog which identifies them as an assistance dog, and ID which proves that they have been trained and registered as an assistance dog. No other animals allowed on site, unless exceptional circumstances exist. This policy is based on guidance from the Equality and Human Rights Commission guidance using information from the Equality Act 2010.
