What to bring

When you’re packing, imagine five days of glorious sunshine and five days of rain… and then pack for both. We’re talking wellies and sun-cream; umbrellas and sunglasses; raincoats and shorts. Here's some suggestions on what to add to your packing list and some top tips along the way…

Below are a few items you might want to pack:

  • Tent (ground sheets, tent poles and pegs to go with your canvas.)
  • Air bed or roll mat
  • Sleeping bag
  • Pillow
  • Eye mask and ear plugs
  • Lots of blankets
  • Warm clothes (although flip flops are great for the showers)
  • Towel and toiletries
  • Torch
  • Battery powered fairy lights for your tent
  • Bible
  • Notebook
  • A chair or picnic blanket to sit on
  • Chargers*
  • We recommend that you do not bring any valuables with you.

If self-catered camping, remember to also bring:

  • Cooking equipment: stove, pans, knives, chopping boards, an ice bag or box etc
  • Plate, mug and cutlery
  • Everything you need to clean up including washing up bowl, washing up liquid, bin bags & tea towels

There is a freezer available to refreeze ice-packs for cool bags or ice boxes (but not to freeze your food). Look for the signs. There are no fridge facilities on the campsite. There is also no where to safely plug in camping fridges so please don't bring these along.

  • Top tip: Bring some battery powered fairy lights and drapes to hang around your tent to give it a cosy feel.

Camping with a meal pass

A meal pass means your meals are provided can simply collect your meals in a takeaway box. All meals will be served from the back of Quinta Hall. You can buy your meal pass when making your Forum booking.

Here are a few useful things to pack:

  • Sleeping bag or single bed linen (duvet cover, sheet)
  • Pillowcase
  • Towel & toiletries
  • Blanket
  • Bible
  • Notebook
  • Warm clothes
  • Torch
  • Chargers*

If you are staying indoors with a meal pass, at registration you will find out where you can pick up your takeaway food from and will be given your room number.

Self-catered indoors

We recommend you only do this option if you have friends or other members of your CU camping and choosing to self-cater. Work with other CU members who are camping and sort out a list of cooking equipment.

  • Top tip: bring your own reusable water bottle to fill up at taps or at meals throughout the week.

Forum does not have a cash machine on-site but there is a cash machine inside the Weston Rhyn village store. All facilities on site take card and contactless.

We’ll provide showers, toilets, washing-up sinks and fresh water taps at various places. Each regional village will have space to gather, so bring your deck chair. Often CUs plan together to share tents, camping supplies, and catering.

Don’t own a tent? You can hire tents, cooking equipment and more from ‘Farmer John’ – delivered straight to Forum.

Check Farmer John's website for information about availability and rates. To order, we recommend booking by phone or post: ‘Farmer John’ doesn’t really do emails!

*We recommend that all electrical devices are PAT tested before Forum
  • We ask that you do not cook in your tents, but use the cooking tents provided in your regional camping zone.
  • Please do not bring disposable or charcoal BBQ's on site.
  • There is no where to safely plug in electric camping fridges so please don't bring these along.
  • Quinta is a dry site so no alcohol should be brought on to the site.
