Aimee Richards

Relay Worker.

Aimee is doing Relay in Swansea, supporting the Christian Unions in Swansea University and UWTSD Swansea.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Aimee says...

Helloooo! I’m Aimee and I’ve spent the last 4 years paddleboarding, sea-swimming, playing frisbee, and completing a degree in French-German Translation and Interpreting.

Simply put, God has been incredibly faithful to the CU in Swansea, and the gospel really does change lives! It’s been a blessing being so involved in student mission, to have seen God’s passionate pursuit of people’s hearts, and now to have another year to do it again!

This year, I'm excited to encourage, champion, come alongside, and learn from my students as they seek to love those around them in practical ways and point their friends to Jesus. I'm looking forward to getting to know them more and help them unearth some of the things God has placed in them for the purpose of Kingdom building in Swansea! I'm excited to depend on Jesus in new ways, to learn more through the study programme, and to see how God will shape my heart more into that of a follower of Him.

Fortunately, it’s the Holy Spirit and not me who does the real, transformative work here, so more than anything I need your support in prayer- for wisdom, perseverance and great expectations!

Relay is a also completely self-funded venture, so as well as your prayer, I would be honoured if you would consider partnering with me financially to fund my living and ministry expenses.

And finally, if you'd like to find out more of what life looks like over this next year, sign up to receive my prayer letter and please get in touch! (Or if you're local, pop over for a cuppa, the door's always open!)

Pray for Aimee

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Aimee’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Aimee:

  • For students at Swansea University to come to know Jesus, and for BIG faith to see this become a reality!
  • For a humble heart to keep learning from, and leaning on Jesus in everything.
  • For Billy and I as we begin married life together- for wisdom, patience (with eachother!) and joy!

Partner with Aimee

It costs on average £8,000–12,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.

Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:

  • Encourage CU students in their faith in the Lord Jesus.
  • Give biblically-grounded answers to students exploring Christianity.
  • Support CUs as they seek to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
