Charlotte O'Mahoney

Relay Worker.

Charlotte is doing Relay in Galway.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.  UCCF also parner with CUI to facilitate the running of the Relay programme in Ireland.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Charlotte says...

I’m Charlotte. Thank you for taking the time to read my supporter page. I’m really excited about starting Relay in Galway with the University of Galway (Dóchas Christian Society) and Atlantic Technological University (ATU Uncover Christianity).

As a recent graduate, I studied Psychology at the University of Limerick (UL). During my time there, I was blessed to see the impact the UL Christian Union made on campus. I had the opportunity to serve as Co-Chairperson and Public Relations Officer. I saw first-hand how reaching students with the Gospel can change lives. I was fortunate to be encouraged by Christian Unions Ireland staff and Relay workers over the years, and I’m excited to give back to students, as I have been blessed by the work of Christian Unions.

I will be packing up my bags and moving to Galway to support and partner with students there. I pray that God will open the hearts of all students to hear the Gospel and equip the Christian Union committee with a heart for the Gospel. I am excited to play a small part in this mission.

Fortunately, I don’t have to do Relay by myself, and I would love if you considered partnering in this mission with me. This could be through prayer and financial giving. I will need to raise about €15,000 in order to live on Relay. (We do love the Irish rental crisis - it costs on average about €650 per month to rent in Galway.)

Please pray for me as I embark on this mission, and I’m excited to partner with you in the coming year.

Pray for Charlotte

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Charlotte’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Charlotte:

  • Prayer that I would rely on God fully this year both financially and in prayer and that I continue to remember that Joy of his Salvation is the greatest gift/support of them all.
  • Galway students and Christian Unions- Please pray that student would be open to hear the gospel and for good preparation in the year ahead
  • Accommodation - Getting accommodation in Galway has proven difficult as there is a rental crisis in the area, please pray that God would provide somewhere to stay for the year

Partner with Charlotte

It costs on average £8,000–12,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.

Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:

  • Encourage CU students in their faith in the Lord Jesus.
  • Give biblically-grounded answers to students exploring Christianity.
  • Support CUs as they seek to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
