CU Staff Worker in our North East region.
Emma grew a love for the North East during her time at Queen's campus uni. She was a little slow in getting involved with her CU but God used her time there to show Emma just how gracious He really is. Emma can't wait to begin to serve CU's again and is excited to see how God will use students in Newcastle and Sunderland.
She grew up in the small Derbyshire town of Chesterfield where thanks to friends and faithful youth workers came to know Jesus as Saviour. After university, thanks to lots of encouragement, Emma went on to serve as a Relay worker in Middlesbrough. Emma developed an often misunderstood love for the 'boro, but more importantly was humbled as she started to see more of the God she called Father and His heart to have people come to know Him.
From there Emma went on to live on the tiny Island of Malta to work with IFES to help pioneer a student group. Often the work felt slow and hard but God in his kindness used the time here to help Emma see that God cared far more than she did about the Maltese and that he just wanted her to remain faithful, not be a hero.
Two years later Emma returned to marry JJ and now lives in Newcastle. Emma has been aptly named by her Gran “Globetrotter” as she loves nothing more than to travel and meet people from other cultures. In her spare time Emma loves to hang out with friends, eat great food and currently is working to beat her 5km PB.
