Esther will be starting work with UCCF as Relay Worker in August 2025.
Esther is doing Relay in Exeter, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Exeter.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Esther says...
Hello, I'm Esther! I'll be serving at Exeter Christian Union from September onwards, having just finished my 3-year Computer Science degree at Plymouth University.
I'm so excited to share the gospel with unbelievers from all walks of life, engaging myself as a disciple to listen, unfold Scripture and simply demonstrate the pure joy that comes from knowing Jesus Christ. I know personally, the CU played a significant role in my faith, as I came to university with no Christian friends and treated Jesus as a side hobby rather than the loving Saviour of my life. But the CU plunged me into such a rich place of community and friendship to continually seek Jesus, quickly becoming the anchor point during my university life. After studying Scripture the way I saw others do, day by day, the Spirit softened my heart to understanding, to the point where many nights I was flooded with joy and peace (and very likely tears) as I kept returning to the same truth - 'God is so good'.
I can't wait to play a part in bringing people's hearts to such a good and loving God, whilst strengthening Exeter CU in discipleship. To enable me to engage in such an amazing opportunity to serve, I'm raising support as the Relay position is unpaid. Pray for Esther
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Esther’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Esther:
- Pray for the University of Exeter campus, that God would send a revival that brings His lost sons and daughters to understanding his Word and meeting Jesus.
- Pray for the strengthening of discipleship in the Christian Union, for Jesus said 'everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another', so pray we may put on full display the incredible love of Jesus.
- Pray for God to help me recognise He will provide everything I need for this upcoming year, spiritually and financially, and that He walks with me in every good work He has prepared in advance for me to do.
Partner with Esther
It costs on average £8,000–12,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.
Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:
- Encourage CU students in their faith in the Lord Jesus.
- Give biblically-grounded answers to students exploring Christianity.
- Support CUs as they seek to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
