Imogen Hutchinson

Imogen will be starting work with UCCF as Relay Worker in August 2026.

Imogen is doing Relay in Nottingham, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Nottingham.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Imogen says...

Hiya! I’m Imogen and I’ll be doing Relay at the University of Nottingham this year! Over the past four years, I have had the privilege of serving at Warwick CU, as vice president in my second year and as the Midlands representative on the Student Council in my fourth year. The CU has played such a large role in my life at university and God has taught me so much about unity, the power of prayer and dependence on Christ. I am very much looking forward to seeing how God will grow and use me during my Relay year, sustaining me as I support the students in their mission at Nottingham Uni.

What will Relay at Nottingham look like? Part of this year will be walking alongside students, encouraging them to delight in the Lord deeply, display Christ fully and declare the gospel boldly at university. I will also engage with and support non-believers or new Christians as they explore Christianity. Another part of this year is the opportunity to dive into God’s Word and study it in depth through a theology study programme and training. My prayer is that this would enrich my personal walk with God and that I’d be able to apply everything I learn as I meet with CU leaders and support them in campus mission.

Throughout my life, God has never ceased to provide - and I recognise that this role, since it is voluntary, will require some financial provision. I will need to raise around £13,000 to cover living and ministry costs for the year and would greatly appreciate your support in this. More importantly, I would love for you to be praying for me! Spurgeon described prayer as the engine room of the Church - it is so incredibly powerful and needed when serving Christ this way. So please do sign up to my prayer support letter!

Pray for Imogen

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Imogen’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Imogen:

  • Pray that the students at Nottingham will continue to grow in their love for Christ and their desire to make Him known on campus.
  • Pray that I would make friends outside of Christian circles and for opportunities to witness to them.
  • Pray for revival at the University of Nottingham!

Partner with Imogen

It costs on average £10,000–£14,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.

Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:

  • Encourage CU students in their faith in the Lord Jesus.
  • Give biblically-grounded answers to students exploring Christianity.
  • Support CUs as they seek to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
