Relay Worker in our Wales region.
Jonathan is doing Relay in Swansea, supporting the Christian Unions in Swansea University and UWTSD Swansea.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Hi, I’m Jon and I’m thrilled to be a part of the Relay team working in Swansea this year! Over the last 4 years I have been studying chemical engineering in Swansea, but I’ve also had the joy of being part of the Christian Union. This has definitely been one of the highlights of my time in Swansea. It’s such a fantastic opportunity to reach out to fellow students telling them about the Gospel, whilst also having a lot of fun on the way! There have been so many students over the years who have heard the Gospel being preached on campus and I’ve personally known many friends who have come to know Jesus!
I’m excited to continue to be a part of this after I graduate, encouraging and equipping students to evangelise! Also, I’m looking forward to how God will grow my own faith through my personal studies as a part of the Relay programme.
This year will also provide an opportunity to rely upon God in my work: for it is God alone who can save. “For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,” Ephesians 2:8. I would be so thankful if you would consider partnering with me in this mission in prayer and financial support! Relay is self-funded year and so I will need to raise finances to be able carry out this mission.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you would like to know more.
