Maja Waldmann

Relay Worker in our Wales region.

Maja is doing Relay in Swansea, supporting the Christian Unions in Swansea University and UWTSD Swansea.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Maja says...

Heyy! I’m Maja and I will be living in Swansea this year supporting the Christian Union there. I’m from Austria and I’ve just finished my Bachelor’s degree in Socioeconomics. Vienna’s IFES movement is relatively small but I was passionate about being part of it nonetheless. Now I’m excited to see the opportunities that come from working with such a large and well-resourced CU here in Wales.

Coming to the UK for a year has been a pretty brave decision for me, and I’m looking forward to see what God has planned for this time! It’s a great privilege to be part of Relay and UCCF! I’m excited to learn more about the person of Jesus, explore new perspectives and be able to share that with students whilst also growing in my own relationship with God.

If you want to know more about the CU in Swansea and what I’m up to, please feel free to sign up for my prayer letter! I’m grateful for all your prayers and, of course, any financial support you want to give would be amazing! Bis bald!

Pray for Maja

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Maja’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Maja:

  • Please pray that I can be a blessing where God has placed me.
  • Please pray that I settle in well and don't experience to much culture shock.
  • Please pray that students in Swansea would experience the depth of God's love for them!

Partner with Maja

It costs on average £8,000–12,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.

Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:

  • Encourage CU students in their faith in the Lord Jesus.
  • Give biblically-grounded answers to students exploring Christianity.
  • Support CUs as they seek to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
