Megan Akrill

Relay Worker in our North West region.

Megan is doing Relay in Liverpool, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Liverpool.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Megan says...

Hey- I'm Meg and over the next year I will be supporting students in University of Liverpool CU as a Relay Worker! During my three years at the University of Manchester being a part of CU has been so important in deepening my love for God's Word, increasing my wonder at the grace God has shown me, and showing the importance of giving students all over the campus a chance to encounter Jesus for themselves. So, I'm excited to be a part of helping the students in Liverpool CU reach their campus with the good news of Jesus and look forward to seeing how God will use their witness over the next year!

Relay is a voluntary programme, which means that I am relying on a group of supporters for finances and prayer. I would love for you to consider partnering with me in either one of these ways or both. I will be sending prayer letters throughout the year to keep supporters up to date and so that specific situations can be prayed for. So please do sign up to receive them and join me in supporting the work of Liverpool CU through prayer.

Pray for Megan

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Megan’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Megan:

  • Moving to a new city is a bit daunting, so prayer that I will settle quickly and make friends would be appreciated.
  • For the student in Liverpool CU to grow in love for Jesus and that this would overflow into a desire to share Him with those around them.
  • That throughout the year I would rely on the Lord and His strength, not my own.

Partner with Megan

It costs on average £8,000–12,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.

Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:

  • Encourage CU students in their faith in the Lord Jesus.
  • Give biblically-grounded answers to students exploring Christianity.
  • Support CUs as they seek to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
