Miriam will be starting work with UCCF as Relay Worker in August 2025.
Miriam is doing Relay in Carlisle & Lancaster, supporting the Christian Unions in Lancaster University and University of Cumbria - Carlisle Campus.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Hi, I’m Miriam, and I’ll be doing Relay with both Carlisle and Lancaster CUs! Having grown up in Carlisle, and just graduated from uni in Lancaster, where I studied Fine Art & Creative Writing, I’m super excited to be able to serve in both of these places this coming year. I’m really thankful for the opportunity of another year where I get to be involved in CU, and see how God will continue to use students to proclaim His gospel.
During my time at Lancaster, CU was such a blessing, as it gave me a wonderful community that demonstrated such a clear picture of God’s kingdom to me. I learned what it looks like to follow Jesus together, and go out and share His good news of salvation, unified in Him. I’m really looking forward to walking alongside students as they experience this same joy, and prayerfully help them to reach their friends on campus.
As Relay is a voluntary role, I will be relying on the generosity of those in a position to give, to fund living and ministry expenses such as travel costs. I will equally be relying on the support of those praying for me throughout the year. If you would like to support me in either of those areas, I would be most grateful, and you can do so by heading over to my stewardship and/or signing up to my prayer letter (both linked on this page)!
