Robbie Walker

Relay Worker in our Scotland region.

Robbie is doing Relay in Stirling, supporting the Christian Union at the University of Stirling.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource, and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Robbie says...

Hi, I’m Robbie and I’m serving Stirling CU this year. This will involve coming alongside the students in Stirling CU and encouraging them in their mission to allow all students at Stirling University to hear and respond to the good news of the Gospel.

I have just finished studying Product Design Engineering at Strathclyde University in Glasgow and have enjoyed 5 years of being involved with the CU there. Coming to University was a hugely formative time in my life as I explored what it meant for me to have a personal and active relationship with Jesus. Being involved in the CU developed my excitement for evangelism, being involved in the Mark Drama and various missions weeks put me in the hot seat at times but the challenge of sharing what I believe is the most important news to my friends wasn’t always easy but helped me grow in my faith as well.

As I look ahead to my time on Relay, I am excited to see how God will work. Undoubtably challenges, trials, and disappointments lay ahead but I trust that throughout my time at Stirling, whether I’m flyering in the rain or playing football with some CU members in the park, God will be with me and as I seek to serve Stirling CU I will ultimately be serving him.

Pray for Robbie

Prayer is a vital part of supporting Robbie’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Robbie:

  • For Stirling CU, they would have the courage and boldness to share the good news of Jesus with their friends.
  • For myself, as I begin my studies during relay that I would apply myself and maximise this opportunity to grow in my knowledge and love of God's word.
  • For all the students at Stirling Univerity, those starting or returning to Uni would be open to hearing the truth of the Gospel and their need for a saviour.

Partner with Robbie

It costs on average £8,000–12,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.

Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:

  • Encourage CU students in their faith in the Lord Jesus.
  • Give biblically-grounded answers to students exploring Christianity.
  • Support CUs as they seek to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel.
