Soph is doing Relay in Cardiff, supporting the Christian Unions in Cardiff Metropolitan University and Cardiff University.

Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.

Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.

Soph says...

Hey, I’m Soph! I’ve just finished my degree in Textile Design at Cardiff Met, and I’m so excited to be staying in Cardiff for another year to serve as a Relay Worker, supporting the Christian Unions across the city.

University is a place where so many are searching for identity and meaning, and I've experienced first-hand how vital the CU is in that space. When I first arrived at uni, I didn’t have a personal relationship with Jesus. But through the CU and joining a local church, I’ve grown so much in my faith and found an incredible community. God has used my time at university to teach me more about His grace, His character, and His plans for my life.

Over the past few years, I’ve seen the CU grow - in number, in boldness, and in its passion to make Jesus known. It’s been so encouraging to watch students come together on fire for the gospel and ready to share it with their friends. This year, I’ll be coming alongside students as they live out their faith at uni - supporting them as they share the gospel and grow in their walk with God. I’m excited to see all that God will do and to continue growing in my own faith as He shapes and equips me.
