Wesley will be starting work with UCCF as Relay Worker in August 2026.
Wesley is doing Relay in Cambridge, supporting the Christian Union in the University of Cambridge.
Relay is a ten-month discipleship, training and mission programme run by UCCF, a charity which aims to give every student in Great Britain an opportunity to hear and respond to the good news about Jesus Christ.
Relay Workers equip, resource and encourage student Christian Unions whilst being discipled and trained by a member of UCCF staff.
Hi, I’m Wesley, and I’m delighted to have the opportunity to serve as a Relay Worker alongside Cambridge Inter-Collegiate Christian Union this academic year.
Being involved in the CU's mission during my three years as a student has been such a blessing. Having arrived at uni as a young Christian with very little experience of evangelism, it was a real joy to be equipped and sent out alongside brothers and sisters in the CU to share the good news of Jesus with fellow students. The Lord used this time to grow in me a heart for sharing the gospel and talking with others about Jesus. And it's been encouraging to see an openness among students to engage with the claims of Christ.
I’m looking forward to continuing to serve in the CU's mission this year as a Relay Worker. This will involve coming alongside students and supporting them as they seek to live and speak for Jesus through discipleship, training, and getting stuck into evangelistic outreach. I’m excited by the gospel opportunities here among students from various nations and backgrounds at a particularly formative time in their lives. I’m also looking forward to growing in my own relationship with Jesus, and to receiving amazing theological and ministry training through Relay’s discipleship and training programme.
I'd love to invite you to partner with me as we seek to reach students in Cambridge with the good news of Jesus. Please pray for me and Cambridge CU; I’ll send monthly prayer letters with updates from the ground and ways you can be praying for us. Since Relay is voluntary, I’ll be relying on financial giving to cover my ministry and living costs. I'm aiming to raise around £13,500 over the year, so I'd love to invite you to consider supporting me financially, as well as in prayer, if you're able and feel led. Thank you.
Prayer is a vital part of supporting Wesley’s work with Christian Unions. Here are some prayer points from Wesley:
It costs on average £10,000–£14,000 to cover the living and ministry expenses of a Relay Worker.
Having a team of people who partner financially and in prayer with Relay Workers means that they can:
