Top tip: it is worth having someone from your group in charge of catering. This person can help organise a menu for the week and be in charge of ordering food. Remember to get everyone’s dietary requirements for the week!
You have access to a freezer where you can store your ice packs, however no food can be stored in there. The freezer gets very crowded, so be aware that you might not come home with the ice packs you brought.
Keep it easy offering people cereals and fruit. One day you could provide bacon (& quorn bacon) butties for everyone.
Buy some bread and sandwich fillings for the week (cheese, ham, nutella, etc). This means people can help themselves. Also have some crisps, fruit and snacks available. Check with your staff worker to see when your region may be catering for you either at lunch or dinner.
Why not get someone in your CU to batch cook a vegetarian chilli for the first evening, then all you have to do is warm it up, and put on some rice.
Other dinner options:
Fajitas (Halloumi as option for vegetarians)
Chilli and rice
Veggie curry or stew
Pasta & veg with pesto or tomato sauce
Why not buy some marshmallows to roast on the campfire or ingredients for smores or banana splits to do in your camping area.
There will be food vans on site where you can treat yourself to a tasty fresh meal. Make the most of them on your first evening at Forum so you don't need to worry about setting up and being late to the main meeting! Or plan one evening and lunchtime to use the food vans to give yourself a break from cooking. They're also open during afterhours so you can enjoy a late night snack. All vans take card payments.
You can also enjoy the Forum Cafe which hosts the very best coffee from CLO Coffee, the famous hot chocolate mountains, and NEW for this year is matcha options.
If you want to come to Forum without the fuss of planning or prepping your meals, you can choose to add a meal pass to your booking. Our caterers Gracious Catering will provide you with meals, in a takeaway format, from Monday dinner through to Friday breakfast. This means you can grab your meal and head down to your CU campsite to hang out, to maximise time with others in your CU campsite. We can cater for all dietary requirements. Meals will be provided in biodegradable/compostable containers to minimise waste – don’t forget to bring a water bottle for refillable drinks. A meal pass costs £52 and can be selected as part of booking your space at Forum. If you’ve already booked and want to add a meal pass, do get in touch with us and we'll add it on to your booking. Meal passes will not be available for purchase after 4 August 2025.
Do not cook in your tents, please use the prep tents provided and cook within your regional camping zone. This is so you have easy access to fire safety equipment. Please do not bring disposable or charcoal BBQ's on site. Please make sure you pack all the materials needed to clean all your cooking utensils thoroughly. There is also no where to safely plug in camping fridges so please don't bring these along.
