This is the chance for soon-to-be students to get a head start at university by immersing themselves in the world of the CUs and receive a wide range of teaching to prepare for university life.
You'll be serving as part of our stewarding team and helping with tasks across the site alongside unique opportunities to connect with your university CU, receive bespoke teaching on starting university well, and sit in on excellent seminars that will further equip you for university life.
What will this look like?
Alongside normal stewarding responsibilities, you'll also get the opportunity to…
- Have a personal introduction to your university UCCF staff worker and/or regional team leader on the first day of Forum
- Attend a seminar delivered by Ben Harding (UCCF Director of Ministry Operations) on starting university well
- Choose which 'Big Questions, Big Topics' seminars you would like to steward so you can enjoy the content. These seminars cover a wide range of topics and issues you may face at university (you will still need to perform normal stewaring duties)
- Join your CU for lunch and get to know them
- Attend any regional BBQs with your CU (dependent on your region, not all regions run BBQs)
- Sit in on morning and evening celebrations
Why should I apply?
As well as the above opportunities, being a volunteer comes with other unique perks…
- Unlike other conferences and camps, you pay nothing to be a volunteer at Forum!
- Meet with others in a similar position and make friends from across the volunteering team
- Gain skills and experiences that can contribute towards your CV
- Make the most of all the other volunteering perks (freebies, 15% off Forum cafe, access to volunteer lounges)
- Enjoy the rest of the Forum timetable when you're not on shift - from the silent disco to plenty of seminars, there's always something to do. Or just enjoy spending time hanging out with other volunteers.
