Leave a gift in your will

Gifts in wills play a vital part in equipping Christian Unions to give every student the opportunity to hear and respond to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Over 2.3 million people are studying at university in Great Britain today.[1] Most of them have never seriously considered the Christian faith before. A gift in a will can introduce them to the real Jesus and give them a chance to investigate His life and claims for themselves.

Lauren’s story

Lauren arrived at university feeling excited, scared and totally unprepared for university life. Having become a Christian as a teenager she joined the CU with the aim of making friends for life. However, she soon realised that it was the Evangelical Christian Union, putting her off completely. For Lauren the thought of purposefully sharing her beliefs made her feel more vulnerable to mocking, side-lining and harsh questioning - the very opposite of making friends for life.

The CU welcomed Lauren and made her feel at home straight away, surprising her with how normal they all seemed. As the CU geared up for their first evangelistic events Lauren again wondered if the CU was the best place for her; but, the CU gently and faithfully explained to her that the gospel is the best news anyone could hear and can bring those around her from death into life.

Encouraged by a community of people boldly living and speaking for Jesus, Lauren grew in confidence in sharing the gospel with her friends and peers. Some of Lauren’s friends have gone on to explore the Christian faith further and Lauren is so excited to see God working first-hand.

Every gift in every will, however large or small, makes a difference to students like Lauren. After you’ve looked after those closest to you please consider leaving a gift in your will to UCCF.
